Lesson Plan

The lesson plan that my partner and I created was very interesting because we both are in different fields and we end up working on a lesson plan in my field which was Track and Field Running. My partner and I didn't run across any problems we worked very well with one another on having great ideas to get this lesson plan done. I feel that this class has taught me a lot about technology in classroom that I had no idea about so it was very informative. The only thing that got me in the classroom was that it contained a lot of work for us to do but overall it was worth it. I have learned in this ETEC 424 class about the different technologies that are used to help better my knowlegede and other students knowlegede on how the use of these technologies are very help in our education. I think teachers should use technology to help better themselves in the students they are teaching so that they can get a better understanding of their education.

Ch7/videogame

Educators should go pretty far in matching the technology used in instruction and classroom activities to the technology their students use so that they could be on the level as their students of knowing the material.

I believe that the online chat can be a little confusing to students because its a lot that is going on in the chat room far as it getting too busy with others or a break off into another room to converse with others. The instant messaging will be a value in the classroom because students can message other classmates about homework assignments they have missed or message one another back n forth about how to work on homework assignments. I think that it can add to student learning and distract from real instruction. It can add to students learning by helping other fellow classmates with assignments, but it can distract from real instruction by conversating off topic with other classmates.

Yes there are benefits to asynchronous, text-based communication over synchronous, face-to-face communication. Sometimes it can be more convenient for students to do text-based communication cause they might learn better more online than face-to-face situation. Now technology has change an many people do things online than face-to-face.

Yes using podcasts with students really enhance leaning because it can motivate them to become experts in preparation for podcast development. Also it helps by enhancing the connections between students.

To some instinct it does help develop students studying because there are videogames that can impact students leaning ability. The skills students can gain from this is experience, knowledge, and making students become subject matter experts. No I do not. No I wouldn't let my children play videogames every day because I think thats a distraction of getting their work done. Education is very important!!!

Personality Trait

My personality is ISFJ which stands for Introverted 33%, Sensing 1%, Feeling 50%, and Judging 33%. This best describe me as the Nurturer.

Yes I do believe that students have different learning styles because of their personality types. Because knowing something about personality and learning styles is both fun and empowering. I do believe that using this personality survey in my classroom will help me know my students better because using this concept can improve students movtivation and work quality. In as a teacher I can adjust the structure and flow of the classroom to allow for success for more students.

Spreadsheet

We use spreadsheet because it has a serious drawback when used for data storage and they are used to construct simulations of problems that students are studying. The advantages of using spreadsheet is using in any area or field that works with numbers and are commonly found in accunting, budgeting, or sales.

The three functions of spreadsheet are storing, calculating, and presenting information. I think of the three function of spreadsheet is that they can be helpful in many ways. Yes I would use them in my classroom because as a teacher the spreadsheet would help to record students and help to determine students averages.

Inspiration Video

I found that there are many graphics organizers that can be used for variety of activities. It has step by step instructions and let students download graphic organizer to fit their needs. I think that this Inspiration software will help educators and students be professional and help with many ideas. The thing that interest me about the Inspiration software was the diagrams and map views for visual learning. I would use Inspiration software in the classroom because it will help the students to brainstorm on any given topic. I would have the students break into small groups and provide a fixed amount of time for the groups to brainstorm.

Organization and Planning writing with Technology will be best use in my classroom. I can have students help each other during writing by putting them into groups and providing them with visual and verbal screen tools to develop a better understanding. By using student to student feedback will help my classroom on the supporting peer feedback on writing.

I recall when I had to teach my skill to the classroom about how to dribble a basketball. I knew that topic very well because I was really familar with that sport since basketball is my favorite sport.

Chapter 6

Some ways that you could use the technology ideas in Chapter 6 to support the curriculum and student learners by enabling social networks and knowledge webs by facilitating collaboration and teamwork. This outcome will strategically pursue learning as a goal. The wiki technology is a type of web site that makes wikis a user friendly, effective collaborative tool for constructing knowlege with others. This will make sure that students are educated in information literacy and have the skills to evaluate media.

Introduction

Hello my name is Ki'Shun Hawkins and I'm a junior at Texas A&M Commerce-University. My major is Kinesiology and Sports Studies and im studying to be a basketball coach for high school students. After I graduate I plan on doing my Physical Therapist program. I am big on family, I enjoy spending time with my family during any occasion.
